Gyeonggi Province Achieves $7.93 Million in Export Consultations Through China Export Consultation Event

Gyeonggi Province achieved export consultation results worth $7.93 million through an export consultation event targeting China.

On April 29, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Regional FTA Trade Promotion Center announced that they held the "2025 Gyeonggi Province Non-Tariff Barrier Response China Export Consultation" in Shenzhen on April 22 and in Wuhan on April 24. In Shenzhen, 56 consultations resulted in export discussions worth $5.92 million, while in Wuhan, 48 consultations led to export discussions worth $2.01 million.

This export consultation event was organized to support small and medium-sized export companies in the province in seeking new overseas market opportunities. The event was designed to align with China's domestic demand and consumption-boosting policies, which are a response to U.S. tariffs amid ongoing U.S.-China trade tensions.

Eight companies from the province, specializing in beauty, food, and daily consumer goods, participated in the event. Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi FTA Center provided support with buyer recruitment, on-site one-on-one matching consultations, professional interpretation, and partial airfare coverage (50%).

Park Kyungseo, Director of International Trade at Gyeonggi Province, said, "This consultation event provided an opportunity for small and medium-sized export companies in the province to directly experience the characteristics of China's non-tariff barriers, the world's largest consumer market, and to deepen their understanding of actual certification and distribution procedures. We will actively support companies so they can recognize the importance of overseas certifications required for exports to key countries such as China, prepare proactively, and effectively respond to the changing global market."

Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi FTA Center plan to continue operating export consultation events, overseas certification support, and customized training to help expand exports of small and medium-sized companies in the province to major global markets.
