Kim Hyoju has risen to 7th place in the world rankings.


In the weekly women's golf world rankings announced on April 28 (local time), she received 4.57 points, jumping six spots from 13th place last week. She earned these points by finishing tied for second at the Chevron Championship, the first major tournament of the LPGA Tour season, which concluded that day at The Club at Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, Texas, USA.

Kim Hyoju finished tied with Yin Ruoning (China), Ariya Jutanugarn (Thailand), Lindy Duncan (USA), and Saigo Mao (Japan), but in the first playoff hole among the five players, she made par and handed the championship trophy to Saigo, who made a birdie.


Nelly Korda (USA), Atthaya Thitikul (Thailand), Lydia Ko (New Zealand), Yin Ruoning (China), and Lilia Vu (USA) occupy the top five spots. Among Korean players, following Kim Hyoju, Ko Jin-young is ranked 8th, Yoo Hae-ran 12th, Yang Hee-young 17th, Yoon Ina 23rd, Kim A-lim 29th, Lim Jin-hee 34th, Shin Ji-ae 37th, and Lee Ye-won 45th. Saigo Mao (Japan), who earned the title of "Lady of the Lake" at the Chevron Championship, made a remarkable leap of 24 spots to reach 13th place.
