In celebration of the 103rd Children's Day, Gwangju's Seogu District is holding a special children's rights art exhibition titled "Children's Day of the Twelve Months" in the lobby on the first floor of Seogu Office until the 5th of next month.
According to Seogu District on April 28, this exhibition was organized to raise awareness of the importance of children's rights. It is based on content planned by the Seoul Children's Museum "Sangsangnara" and has been reinterpreted by Seogu Office together with local children. The exhibition also features works by illustrators connected to the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Throughout the exhibition hall, key articles from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and famous quotes about children's rights are displayed, creating a space that promotes a social atmosphere of respect and protection for children.
Kang Misuk, Head of the Child Welfare Division, said, "This exhibition was prepared to share Seogu's values as a child-friendly city with residents and to help establish a culture that respects children's rights and happiness in the local community. I hope that visiting the exhibition will be an opportunity for everyone to reflect on the importance of children's rights together."
Meanwhile, since obtaining the upper-level UNICEF Child Friendly City certification in June 2022, Seogu has been leading efforts to realize children's rights through various initiatives such as establishing the All KIDS ZONE, operating the Youth District Participation Group, and hosting the Children's Policy Proposal Contest. This year, as Seogu prepares for recertification at the upper level, the district plans to further strengthen policies to promote and protect children's rights.
