NongHyup Financial Group Launches Volunteer Support for Rural Farm Work During Busy Season

Chairman Chanwoo Lee and Employees Sweat Together in Volunteer Work

On April 25, NongHyup Financial Group announced that Chairman Chanwoo Lee and approximately 40 others participated in a volunteer event to assist with farm work during the busy farming season in Deogyang, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province the previous day.

This volunteer effort was organized to support farmers who are struggling with labor shortages caused by an aging population and rising labor costs. Chairman Lee and the volunteer team worked hard, carrying seedling trays and tidying up the areas around farms. NongHyup employees from the local area, including Soonbok Jang, Chairman of Jido NongHyup, also joined the activities to lend their support.

NongHyup Financial Group is participating in the "Together with the People (Value) Rural Volunteer Activities" campaign to help rural areas facing labor shortages during the farming season, following its comprehensive support?including financial aid and supplies?for wildfire-affected regions in March. Financial affiliates such as banks, insurance companies, and securities firms are all planning to take part in farm work assistance during the busy season.

Chairman Chanwoo Lee stated, "It is meaningful to be able to work together and support farming households by sweating alongside them, as our rural communities face difficulties due to labor shortages." He added, "NongHyup Financial Group will fully carry out its fundamental role in supporting the development of agriculture and rural areas, and will actively take the lead in creating a new NongHyup in Korea that is loved by the people."
