Daejeon City announced that the Dongdaejeon Library will open on May 1, 2025.

The Dongdaejeon Library, with a total floor area of 7,354 square meters across one basement level and three above-ground floors, has been designed not only as a place for reading but also as a stay-type library where various cultural contents coexist.

In particular, the library will offer differentiated services by providing four experiential spaces, including a children's workshop, a youth creative studio, and an immersive experience room.

The opening ceremony will be hosted by writer Lee Sanghyup, and will also feature a recital of essays capturing the sentiment of May. On this day, the library will operate a "Library Tasting Day," allowing visitors of all ages to freely experience all areas without age restrictions.

Additionally, visitors can participate in events such as a meeting with writer Kim Youngha (3:30 p.m.), LEGO and mini plant potting experiences in the children's workshop, making pipe cleaner dolls and miniature bookshelves in the youth creative studio's Kkumssi Family program, and a Music&Move drum one-day class.

A library representative stated, "We hope that Dongdaejeon Library will be a seed of imagination for children, an opportunity for youth to plan their futures, and a place of reflection and healing for adults."
