Gyeonggi Tourism Organization Selects Five Leading Region-Specialized MICE Events

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization has selected five events in five regions, including the Goyang City Content Business Forum, as this year's "region-specialized MICE" events.

MICE is an acronym for Meeting, Incentive tour, Convention, and Exhibition, referring to business events and activities.

On April 25, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that it has finalized five events as region-specialized MICE: the 2025 Ansan Intercultural City International Symposium, GXG 2025 Seongnam Game Culture Festival, Bucheon International Comics Market, Goyang City Content Business Forum, and the 2025 Gimpo Automobile Racing Conference.

The Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will provide up to 55 million won in support for the Ansan, Seongnam, and Bucheon events, which have been selected as incubating-stage events among the five, and up to 75 million won for the Goyang and Gimpo events, which have been selected as promising-stage events.

In addition, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization will form an advisory group composed of academics and international conference experts to participate from the planning stage of the events and provide advice on strategies to promote tourism and economic revitalization through internationalization of the events and linkage with local industries.

A representative from the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization stated, "The H2 (Hydrogen) MEET Conference and the Gwanggyo Bio Week event, which were selected in the previous call for proposals, have been chosen as this year's global K-convention events. We will actively support newly discovered MICE events in Seongnam and Ansan through this call for proposals, so that they can develop international competitiveness by linking with region-specialized industries and cultural tourism content."
