In April, when vibrant green leaves wave brightly and blooming flowers sing, fragrant paths heralding spring have been created throughout Mapo-gu (District Mayor Park Kangsoo).

These are the flower paths established by the 16 local community centers in Mapo-gu.

To allow residents to experience the beauty of nature and find peace of mind within the city, Mapo-gu allocated a budget for the flower path project by district when preparing the 2025 budget last year.

Afterward, each community center selected locations for the flower paths based on the specific circumstances of their district and planted a variety of trees and flowers.

On April 2, Mangwon 1-dong, together with the Saemaeul Women's Association and the Silppuri Welfare Companion Group, planted tulips of various colors in Ongdalsaem Park and Hanmaeum Park, creating a bright spring atmosphere.

On April 14, Seongsan 2-dong installed 50 railing planters along the sidewalk near Sinbuk Elementary School, contributing to the emotional development and sensitivity of children and providing a warm, flower-lined route to school.

On April 15, Gongdeok-dong created a 115-meter-long flower path along the Manrijae Old Road area. As this is a high-traffic area, the flower path is expected to offer a space where people can briefly enjoy the scent of flowers and find a moment of relaxation even during busy commuting and school hours.

Additionally, on April 16, Seogyo-dong planted begonias and verbenas imbued with the energy of spring around the honorary road "Choi Kyuhagil," recently established by Mapo-gu, creating a space where history and nature coexist.

Ahyeon-dong, once called Haenghwa-dong due to its abundance of apricot trees, revived this legacy by planting 22 apricot trees in Ahyeon Eoulsopark on April 17 and planting 22 types of perennial flowers reflecting the season at locations such as the entrance to Ahyeon Market.

In addition, from early April, flower paths have been completed in Dohwa-dong, Yonggang-dong, Sinsu-dong, Daehyeong-dong, Yeomni-dong, Seogang-dong, Hapjeong-dong, Mangwon 2-dong, Yeonnam-dong, Seongsan 1-dong, and Sangam-dong, further adding to the scent of spring.

The flower path project will continue to be promoted so that residents can interact with flowers throughout all four seasons.

Park Kangsoo, Mayor of Mapo-gu, stated, "I hope the creation of these flower paths offers sincere comfort to residents weary from daily life," and added, "I encourage everyone to pause for a moment in their busy day and feel the change of seasons through the scent and colors of the flowers." He continued, "Mapo-gu will continue to strive to create a city where people and nature breathe together."
