Democratic Party lawmaker Jin Jinsook (Gwangju Buk-gu-eul) held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office on the 24th, urging the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Health Insurance Service to conduct an on-site investigation and prompt investigation into 'On Nursing Home' in Namyangju, which is reportedly operated by Kim Gunhee's older brother and mother. At On Nursing Home, Kim Gunhee's older brother Kim Jinwoo serves as the CEO, while their mother, Choi, effectively manages the facility.

Jin strongly criticized, "Former President Yoon Sukyeol's mother-in-law, Choi Eunsun, profited from running an illegal paper hospital, and now she is getting involved in nursing homes, holding the lives and safety of elderly people hostage," and added, "A thorough investigation is needed into the unethical and irrational pursuit of profit by Kim Gunhee's family."

Quoting a report from 'Seoul's Voice,' Jin stated, "At On Nursing Home, one banana was divided among 16 elderly residents, sick residents were not taken to the hospital, and restraint and emotional abuse were routine, amounting to serious elder abuse. The facility was also rated as inadequate in excretion management in the 2021 regular evaluation by the National Health Insurance Service."

She further added, "There were two officially reported cases of suspected elder abuse at On Nursing Home in 2018 and 2021, but in reality, there were many more unreported cases of abuse at the facility."

Jin also said, "From 2017 to February of this year, approximately 9.7 billion won in health insurance payments were made to On Nursing Home," and stressed, "A prompt investigation is needed to determine whether the funds that should have been spent on food and care services for the elderly have instead been used to fill Kim Gunhee's coffers."

Meanwhile, Jin stated, "If abuse at nursing facilities, which play a leading role in care in a super-aged society, is left unchecked, the nation loses its reason for existence," and added, "As a member of the National Assembly's Health and Welfare Committee, I will continue to pursue this matter until not only those who abused the elderly, but also those who aided or condoned the abuse, are properly punished."
