Park Junghyun, Governor of Buyeo County, Wins Grand Prize in Chief Executive Category at '2025 Governance Local Politics Awards'

Recognized as an Innovative Administrative Case for the "Integrated Biogas Facility"
Park Junghyun, Governor of Buyeo County in South Chungcheong Province, received the Grand Prize in the Chief Executive category at the '7th Governance Local Politics Awards Ceremony 2025' held in the main conference hall of the National Assembly Members' Office Building on April 23.
According to Asia Economy's coverage on April 24, Park was honored with this award as his 'Integrated Biogas Facility' project was highly praised as an innovative administrative case based on resident participation and cooperative governance.
In particular, the project drew attention as a model case by achieving the 'Three Nos' (no NIMBY, no opposition rallies, no distrust), successfully selecting the site without conflict.
The facility, to be built in Guryong-myeon, Buyeo County, will be constructed with a total investment of 47.1 billion won. It will process livestock manure and food waste in an eco-friendly manner and is expected to produce approximately 1.46 million cubic meters of biogas annually.
Governor Park Junghyun stated, "This award is an achievement made together with all county residents," and added, "Based on justice and fairness, I will realize resident-centered governance."
