Korea Startup Forum announced on April 24 that it has published a startup policy proposal for the next government titled "A New Republic of Korea Created by Startups: Scale-up Korea," ahead of the presidential election in June.
This proposal is the result of the Korea Startup Forum (KOSPO) Policy Task Force (TF), which was formed during the early presidential election process to position startups as a core element of the nation's future strategy. The Policy TF was led by Jung Jieun, CEO of Kodeit, and Lee Hyunjae, CEO of YesFuture, who serve as co-chairs of the KOSPO External Policy Committee, with broad participation from founders of major member companies, stakeholders in the startup ecosystem, and experts.

KOSPO emphasized that the next government should actively leverage private sector innovation capabilities to secure future growth engines.
In particular, KOSPO clarified that amid structural challenges such as global technological hegemony competition and demographic changes, startups are strategic assets that can contribute to the national economy by diversifying business models, creating jobs, expanding tax revenues, and realizing social value.
KOSPO stressed, "The next government must embark on bold reforms with the determination to eliminate 100 regulations within the first 100 days, and precise and flexible regulatory innovation that keeps pace with rapidly evolving technologies is urgently needed."
The policy proposal includes key tasks such as diversifying Korea's business models around new industries, securing global talent, and establishing investment recovery infrastructure for global expansion.
Jung Jieun, co-chair of the KOSPO External Policy Committee, stated, "The new administration must establish an institutional communication channel so that startups can effectively convey the voices from the field in the process of designing policies and regulations."
Han Sangwoo, chair of KOSPO, emphasized, "We expect that this proposal will not only support the global competitiveness of startups and the qualitative growth of new industries, but also contribute to building a digital transformation ecosystem that connects private sector technology with public innovation."
