Hite Jinro to Launch "Filite Clear" on April 25
Super Clear Process... Overcoming the Limits of Happoshu

Hite Jinro will launch a new lineup of its Filite brand, "Filite Clear," on April 25 to expand its presence in the domestic happoshu market. As the ninth product following Filite and Filite Fresh, Filite Clear was developed in response to the recent consumer trend favoring "clean and crisp flavors."

Since the launch of Filite in 2017, Hite Jinro has continued to innovate its brand and communicate with consumers by introducing products such as "Purinecut" and "Radler"?items that had not previously been attempted in the happoshu market. The newly released Filite Clear is also recognized for overcoming the limitations of happoshu by applying the Super Clear process.

Happoshu, which contains less than 10% malt, is produced by blending and fermenting non-malt ingredients such as barley and starch, followed by filtration. Typically, barley?the main ingredient in happoshu?has a lower degree of fermentation compared to malt, making it difficult to maximize fermentation. However, Hite Jinro succeeded in achieving a high degree of fermentation comparable to beer by leveraging its unique expertise and 100 years of brewing technology.

Additionally, by precisely adjusting the amount of enzyme used to enhance barley fermentation and the ratio of main ingredients through hundreds of repeated processes, Hite Jinro was able to minimize off-flavors in the wort and create a high-quality happoshu with both a clean finish and refreshing sensation, despite the low malt content.

The product name highlights the core element "Clear," intuitively expressing its clean and crisp characteristics. The package design uses silver to convey a transparent and refreshing image, and blue to represent a clean finish. For differentiation, the design omits the Filly character and features the "Saeng (Fresh)" label, emphasizing the product’s inherent qualities. The alcohol content is 4.5%.
