On April 22, the city of Anseong in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will be recruiting members for the "2025 Anseong City Single-Person Household Policy Participation Group" until May 16, in order to reflect the diverse voices of single-person households in local policy.
Anyone aged 19 or older who either resides in Anseong, has their livelihood based in the city, or is interested in single-person household policies is eligible to apply for the Policy Participation Group. Those selected will be involved in proposing policy ideas related to single-person households, participating in policy meetings and discussion forums, and engaging in promotional activities for support measures for single-person households.
The group will consist of a total of 10 members, and the activity period will run for seven months, from June to December.
A city official stated, "The operation of this Policy Participation Group aims to establish a citizen-led governance system," adding, "Through this initiative, we plan to develop effective policies to improve the quality of life for single-person households and address social isolation."
