The event was attended by approximately 1,000 people, including Joo Gwangdeok, mayor of Namyangju City, the chairman of the Council, provincial assembly members, and believers. It proceeded in two parts: the first part was the worship service, and the second part was the scholarship award ceremony.
In particular, during the special prayer time in the service, participants prayed for world peace, comfort and recovery for those suffering from war and famine, economic development in Namyangju City, and for the city to become an even more livable place, surpassing imagination.
At the scholarship award ceremony, the Council, together with the Namyangju Welfare Foundation and the World Vision Gyeonggi Northern Business Headquarters, awarded scholarships totaling 15 million won to 50 students from elementary, middle, high schools, and universities within the city. This act of sharing has continued every year through the Easter joint service.
In his congratulatory speech, Mayor Joo Gwangdeok said, "It was a precious and grateful time to be able to worship the risen Lord through the Easter Joint Thanksgiving Service," and added, "Namyangju City will do its utmost to grow into a future-oriented self-sufficient city where all citizens can be happy."
