Namseoul University announced on April 21 that it has been selected for the "2025 Chungcheongnam-do Developmental Disabilities Parent Education Support Project," organized by the Chungnam Developmental Disabilities Support Center.

This project was established to strengthen the parenting capabilities of parents and guardians of young children with developmental disabilities.

Following this selection, the Namseoul University Child and Family Counseling Center will offer a total of four free educational programs for families in the Chungnam region with children under the age of nine who have developmental disabilities, running through October.

The programs include: "Together for Strong Minds," which covers the characteristics of developmental disabilities and parenting skills; "Sharing Hearts," which focuses on self-understanding and emotional support; developmental play therapy for parents and children; and play-based parenting coaching for parents and children.

The university plans to accept applications on a first-come, first-served basis until May 31. Further details can be found on the Child and Family Counseling Center's blog or on the university website's notice board.

Kim Kyoungeun, head of the center, stated, "These educational programs are designed to provide professional support for the various challenges faced by parents raising children with developmental disabilities, and to help both parents and children grow up healthy. We expect that, by connecting with the Chungnam community, we can offer practical assistance to many families."
