Gwangju Transportation Corporation recently conducted a thorough inspection of facilities for the mobility-impaired within urban railway stations, including restrooms designated for the disabled, signage, escalators, and elevators, in celebration of Disability Day. 원본보기 아이콘Gwangju Transportation Corporation (President Cho Ikmun) announced on April 21 that, in celebration of the 45th Disability Day, it had conducted a special joint inspection of convenience facilities within subway stations together with an advisory committee of visually and physically impaired individuals.
During this inspection, departments responsible for architecture, mechanical environment, communications, and station automation collaborated closely to thoroughly examine key facilities within the stations, including restrooms designated for the disabled, tactile guidance maps, voice guidance devices, signage, and elevators.
The corporation plans to actively enhance the convenience of subway users by identifying and improving areas in need of reinforcement, such as upgrading signage for the visually impaired and maintaining handrails on ramps.
President Cho Ikmun stated, "We are doing our utmost to create a convenient subway environment for the transportation disadvantaged," adding, "We will continue to regularly inspect facilities to further improve convenience for citizens."
