Irem announced on April 21 that it will supply a vanadium redox battery energy storage system (ESS) to Brovary Central District Hospital in Ternopil Oblast, Ukraine, through its affiliate.
According to the company, the supply agreement was signed in March, and the advance payment has already been received.
XRB, a company specializing in vanadium redox battery ESS, will be responsible for manufacturing, and the system will be supplied through Irem.
This contract is part of a project aimed at stabilizing Ukraine's medical infrastructure and strengthening its energy independence. Irem plans to provide an ESS solution to ensure stable power supply for essential medical equipment and systems within the hospital.
The ESS is a key device that can reliably supply power even when the transmission grid is damaged.
Currently, Ukraine is conducting rolling blackouts three times a day, each lasting four hours, due to the destruction of its power system. As a result, local hospitals are in urgent need of a stable power network to treat the injured.
An official from Brovary stated on the city’s website, "With the ESS supply agreement with XRB, the hospital has secured power independence."
An Irem official said, "With this supply as a starting point, we plan to expand our business to include multiple public institutions and infrastructure projects across Ukraine in the future."
