Dankook University Hospital announced on April 21 that the ophthalmology research team led by Professor Cho Kyungjin received the Video Award at the 133rd Korean Ophthalmological Society Academic Conference, which was recently held at BEXCO in Busan.
Professor Cho's team presented a video on "Endothelial Inward Folding Traction Method for Corneal Endothelial Keratoplasty."
According to the research, this new surgical technique involves separating the endothelial layer of the donor cornea during surgery and folding it so that the endothelial cells face inward before transplantation. This method was highly rated for its superior operability and stability compared to conventional techniques.
Professor Cho Kyungjin stated, "We will continue to strive to contribute to the advancement of ophthalmic medicine in Korea through patient-centered care as well as clinical and academic research."
