On April 21, JW Pharmaceutical announced the launch of a new product, 'Hwakol Tab', which features improved formulation and packaging of its comprehensive cold medicine 'Hwakol Soft Capsule'.

The newly introduced 'Hwakol Tab' has been changed from the existing soft capsule to a film-coated tablet to enhance consumer convenience. The film-coated tablet has a thin film covering the surface of a regular tablet, making it smoother and easier to swallow, while also reducing bitterness or a foreign body sensation after ingestion. The tablet size is also small?1.32 cm in length, 0.61 cm in width, and 0.45 cm in thickness?allowing people of all ages to take it without discomfort. The packaging unit has been changed from the previous 10 capsules to 20 tablets in a Press Through Package (PTP).

'Hwakol Tab' contains only four key ingredients essential for relieving cold symptoms: acetaminophen (200 mg) for analgesic and antipyretic effects, chlorpheniramine maleate (1.25 mg) as an antihistamine, dextromethorphan (8 mg) to suppress cough and reduce phlegm, and pseudoephedrine hydrochloride (15 mg) to relieve runny or stuffy nose.

The product package has also been designed with a user-centered approach. The concise package design visually highlights the small tablet size, and the product's benefits are illustrated using pictograms to make its efficacy and effects easy to understand. In addition, the dosage and administration instructions are clearly displayed on the front of the package, making them easy for both pharmacists and consumers to check at a glance.

'Hwakol Tab' should be taken by adults and those aged 15 and older as two tablets per dose, three times a day, 30 minutes after meals. Notably, children over 7 years old but under 15 years old can take one tablet per dose, three times a day, 30 minutes after meals, making it a useful household medicine.

A JW Pharmaceutical representative stated, "We developed 'Hwakol Tab' with a focus on convenience and safety, while maintaining the effectiveness in relieving cold symptoms," and added, "We will continue to launch pharmaceuticals that are easy for everyone to take."
