The district will accept applications until June 16, recruiting participants as individuals or teams of up to five people. This year’s competition theme focuses on "solving problems faced by youth." Participants are encouraged to propose policies that reflect the realities of young people, based on difficulties or experiences they have encountered in their daily lives.
Applicants can choose one of five fields: employment, economy·housing, culture·welfare, education, or participation. Based on the submitted proposals, a first-round document screening will select five teams to advance to the finals, where the best ideas will be determined. The five finalist teams will receive expert consulting (facilitation) to help deepen and develop their proposals and enhance their feasibility.
The final round will consist of policy proposal presentations and discussions. Based on these, the effectiveness, creativity, and feasibility of each policy will be evaluated to determine the final winners.
The grand prize-winning team will receive 1 million won, the top excellence award team will receive 500,000 won, and three excellence award teams will each receive 200,000 won, along with certificates. The ideas from the five selected teams will be exhibited at the "Youth Policy Expo" to be held at "Seoul Youth Center Yangcheon" in September, and after review by the relevant departments, they are expected to be incorporated into actual policy.
Youth wishing to participate should prepare the required documents, including an application form and policy proposal, and submit them by email. Any young person aged 19 to 39 who resides or is active in Yangcheon District is eligible to participate. Further details are available on the Yangcheon District Office website.
Meanwhile, the district is also implementing a variety of customized policies for youth, including support for national qualification exam fees, a youth store development project, cultural promotion fund support, shuttle bus support for reservist training centers, and a youth challenge support project.
District Mayor Lee Gijae stated, "I hope many young people will take an active interest in and participate in the 'Youth Policy Competition,' which offers an opportunity for youth not only to be the subject of policies but also to actively participate in policymaking." He added, "We will continue to strengthen practical support for young people and create a city where youth can take pride."
