According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 struck the northern part of Nagano Prefecture at around 8:19 p.m. on April 18.

The depth of the epicenter was 10 km. There is no risk of a tsunami.


Shaking with a seismic intensity of lower 5 was detected in Omachi City and Ogawamura in Nagano Prefecture, while a seismic intensity of 4 was observed in Nagano City.
