On the 19th, Judge Lee Jungmin of the Seoul Eastern District Court's Criminal Division 9 announced that he had sentenced a man in his 40s, identified as Mr. A, to six months in prison on charges of obstructing the execution of official duties and refusing to vacate the premises.

Mr. A was indicted for staying in a hotel in Gangdong-gu, Seoul in early February, failing to vacate his room after the designated time, and then verbally abusing and physically pushing police officers who responded to a report from hotel staff.

Judge Lee stated, "The defendant committed this offense only about 30 days after receiving a suspended sentence for obstructing official duties. He also has multiple prior convictions for the same charge, as well as a history of serving prison sentences for violent crimes. Therefore, a severe punishment is unavoidable."
