Busan Gijang County Designates Jukseong 3 District and Wollae 1 District for Cadastral Resurvey Project

Gijang-gun, Busan, announced on the 16th that it will accelerate its cadastral resurvey operations this year, as two areas in the region were recently designated and announced as '2025 Cadastral Resurvey Project Districts.'

The cadastral resurvey project is a national initiative to digitize paper cadastral maps created during the Japanese colonial period to reflect the actual land use status. Its purpose is to resolve disputes arising from mismatches between boundaries and reality, and to enhance the value of land utilization.

The newly designated districts are Jukseong 3 District in the Jukseong-ri area of Gijang-eup (112 parcels, 28,979㎡) and Wollae 1 District in the Wollae-ri area of Jangan-eup (116 parcels, 15,336㎡).

These areas are mixed-use regions with both residential and agricultural land, where civil complaints due to boundary discrepancies have been continuously raised. Through this project, the county expects to significantly resolve longstanding boundary disputes among landowners while improving the accuracy of cadastral maps by clarifying boundaries.

Starting in April, procedures such as cadastral surveying and boundary consultations will be carried out sequentially, with the goal of completing the project by 2026. In particular, the county plans to provide more precise and accurate cadastral services by creating digital cadastral maps using drones and the latest precision surveying equipment.

County Governor Jeong Jongbok said, "Through the cadastral resurvey, we will be able to resolve unreasonable boundary issues and more clearly protect the property rights of our residents," adding, "We ask for the active participation and cooperation of residents for the smooth progress of the project."
