Mungyeong City in North Gyeongsang Province announced on the 14th that it held the Mungyeong Chasabal Festival and tourism promotion event for metropolitan area tourists at COEX Mall in Seoul for two days, from the 11th to the 12th.
This event was part of a pre-promotional campaign for the successful hosting of the Mungyeong Chasabal Festival, aiming to attract both metropolitan and international tourists.
The event was held at a booth set up near the Byeolmadang Library in COEX Mall, utilizing the mall's characteristic of attracting over 150,000 visitors daily to draw significant attention from tourists.
On-site, Festival Promotion Committee Chair Kim Seonsik and artist Cheon Kyunghee participated, presenting demonstrations of traditional kick wheels and exhibitions of Mungyeong chasabal, while offering visitors traditional tea ceremony experiences and promoting Mungyeong's tourism resources and local specialties.
Kim Seonsik, Chair of the Festival Promotion Committee, stated, "The Mungyeong Chasabal Festival boasts a unique history and tradition, utilizing traditional kick wheels and Mangdaengi kilns. We strive for new changes and progress every year, and this event is part of that effort. We will prepare to make it a global festival that attracts even more visitors."
Meanwhile, the 2025 Mungyeong Chasabal Festival, scheduled to be held from May 3rd to 11th, will take place at the Mungyeong Saejae Open Set. With the opening of KTX Mungyeong Station and the implementation of a free city bus policy, an even larger number of tourists is expected to visit the festival venue.
In particular, this year's festival will introduce a newly designed tea bowl (Uryeonanumi), as well as various demonstrations and hands-on activities, expanded rest areas, and new nighttime programs, offering even more diverse and innovative content.
