Household Waste Separation and Disposal Searchable on Jungnang-gu Office Website

Jungnang-gu (District Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is launching a "Guide to Household Waste Separation and Disposal" to help residents dispose of waste more accurately and conveniently in their daily lives.

Recently, there have been many cases where the separation and disposal standards for different items are ambiguous or vary by local government, causing confusion during the actual disposal process.

In response, the district has newly established separation and disposal standards tailored to local conditions and plans to produce promotional materials on the often confusing household waste separation methods, which will be distributed to each household along with the May district newsletter.

In particular, to allow anyone to easily check household waste separation information anytime, a "Search Function for Item-specific Separation and Disposal" has been newly established on the district office website. This is the first case among Seoul's autonomous districts, where by entering the name of about 680 items, users can receive guidance on the correct separation and disposal method for the item.

With the introduction of this search system, it is expected to resolve residents' inconveniences caused by ambiguous standards and create an environment where anyone can easily practice waste separation. Furthermore, once proper household waste disposal habits are established, it is anticipated to significantly contribute not only to improving recycling rates but also to creating a clean urban environment.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, "This website search function will be a useful tool to easily resolve residents' questions about waste separation," and added, "We ask for the active interest and participation of residents to make Jungnang cleaner."
