The government announced on the 13th that it will recruit companies in the private sector to participate in a cyber crisis response simulation exercise in the first half of this year.
The Ministry of Science and ICT and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) are recruiting participants for the "2025 First Half Cyber Crisis Response Simulation Exercise" from the 14th until next month 2nd to strengthen cyber crisis response capabilities. Regardless of company size or industry, anyone can apply without restrictions, including small, medium, large enterprises, and non-profit organizations.
The training period will be conducted over two weeks from the 19th to the 30th of next month. The training contents include ▲response to phishing emails ▲Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack and response checks ▲simulated penetration testing targeting company websites ▲vulnerability detection and response training.
Among these, the "vulnerability detection and response training" was previously a training to check whether companies could detect vulnerabilities in their own security equipment. Companies had to have security devices or solutions such as firewalls and IPS (security systems that identify, detect, and block viruses and malicious traffic) to apply. However, starting this time, reflecting and improving based on company feedback, the training method has changed to detecting and responding to security vulnerabilities of externally exposed servers, allowing any company operating servers to participate.
After the simulation exercise ends, a review session will be held to present the training results, analysis, and best practices, sharing training know-how, cyberattack response methods, and threat trends with participating companies.
Small and medium-sized enterprises that find it difficult to participate in regular training can join the "Cyber Security Training Platform," a continuous training system that allows training according to desired schedules and scenarios tailored to their own environment. The number of companies and participants in both regular and continuous training has been increasing annually, with a total of 2,066 companies and approximately 571,000 participants last year. Detailed information such as how to apply can be found on the KISA BohoNara website.
