Jeonnam Province Expands Support for Prospective Entrepreneurs in Tourism Sector

Recruiting 10 Promising Local Entrepreneurs

Jeollanam-do, together with the Jeonnam Tourism Foundation, is recruiting participants for the '2025 Tourism Business Development and Startup Support Program' for about a month until May 12.


This program is designed to discover and foster promising entrepreneurs with creative and feasible ideas in various tourism fields such as tourism services, tourism infrastructure, and tourism/experience content.


The target applicants are residents or prospective residents of Jeollanam-do aged between 19 and 55 (as of January 1, 2025). Eligible applicants are prospective entrepreneurs without a business registration as of the announcement date, or early-stage entrepreneurs who have been in business for less than three years and plan to launch an additional business in the tourism industry.


Out of all applicants, 30 will be selected to receive specialized tourism startup education and participate in a presentation evaluation. The final 10 entrepreneurs will each receive up to 20 million KRW in startup funds, totaling 200 million KRW in support.

Lee Sunho, Director of Tourism Development at Jeollanam-do, said, "Through this support program, we plan to discover promising entrepreneurs who can inject new ideas and vitality into the tourism industry of Jeollanam-do."


Since 2021, Jeollanam-do has discovered and fostered a total of 41 startup companies through the Tourism Business Development and Startup Support Program, and these companies have achieved cumulative sales of approximately 3.1 billion KRW.
