Damyang County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Jeong Cheolwon), announced on the 11th that it will be accepting submissions for ideas for the "Hometown Love Donation Fund Project" until the 9th of next month, in order to discover innovative fund projects that can resonate with both donors and residents.
This contest aims to explore ways to utilize the hometown love donations collected in Damyang County and to provide tangible benefits to residents. The areas for submission include: ▲Support for socially vulnerable groups and youth development/protection ▲Promotion of residents' culture, arts, and health ▲Support for community revitalization through citizen participation and volunteering ▲Other projects necessary for the welfare of residents, for a total of four categories. Governor Jeong Cheolwon stated, "The Hometown Love Donation System is a system that allows direct participation in regional development through donations, so I hope that various projects contributing to the welfare of residents will be discovered," and added, "We ask for the interest and participation of many people to ensure the valuable use of the hometown love donations."
Meanwhile, the county is currently implementing five projects using hometown love donations this year: "Hospital accompaniment and integrated care for seniors with mobility difficulties," "Support for local children's centers to promote healthy growth of children," "Operation of the Hyangchon Community Meal Center," "Support for youth reading clubs," and "Electricity bill support for small business owners to revitalize local shops."
