Gokseong County in Jeollanam-do (Governor Jo Sangrae) announced on the 10th that it will be accepting applications for the sale of lots in the 'Ungok Specialized Agro-Industrial Complex' (hereinafter referred to as the specialized complex) until the 26th of next month.

The specialized complex, located in Ungok-ri, Osan-myeon, Gokseong, is a food-specialized complex consisting of 25 lots available for sale: 20 for food companies, 3 for electric component companies, and 2 for electric equipment companies.

The specialized complex is highly accessible, being only 2 minutes away from the Okgwa IC on the Honam Expressway, and is adjacent to Okgwa-myeon, which makes it convenient for companies to arrange accommodation and meals. It also provides access to a young and talented workforce from Jeonnam Science College. Additionally, it is just 15 minutes from Gwangju, which is advantageous for recruiting manufacturing workers. In particular, the lots are divided into medium and small sizes (an average of 4,261 square meters per lot) to suit food companies, offering convenience in location.

Construction of the specialized complex began in June 2022, and currently, the overall progress rate is at 50%, with work such as reinforced earth retaining walls and soil importation underway. The site is scheduled to be fully prepared in the second half of this year, with the goal of completion in the first half of next year.

To complete the lot sales quickly, the county participated in the 'Korea Beer Expo' held at COEX in Seoul on this day, distributing promotional leaflets and advertising the details of the specialized complex. They also plan to actively promote the advantages of the complex by operating promotional booths at the 15th Gokseong World Rose Festival (May 16-25) and the Gwangju Food Expo (May 29-June 1). In addition, the county intends to participate in five food expos in the first half of this year to promote the sale of the specialized complex.

The county is also conducting promotions through its website and Instagram, as well as posting information on the Industrial Location Information System and the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, so that related companies can easily access the sales information.

A county official stated, "By offering a food-specialized complex that is differentiated from existing metal and other industrial complexes, we expect to achieve substantial economic benefits and greatly invigorate the region through increased employment," adding, "We will do our utmost to complete the sales as soon as possible."
