Superintendent Chae Sujun has been appointed as the 29th Chief of the Mokpo Maritime Police Station.
The Mokpo Maritime Police Station held a modest inauguration ceremony on the 10th in the small conference room, attended by over 50 department heads and vessel commanders.

원본보기 아이콘At the inauguration ceremony held at 1 p.m. that day, Chief Chae Sujun stated, "I will become a maritime police officer who protects the lives and property of the people by adhering to the basics and principles," and added, "I will do my best to create a warm and trustworthy Mokpo Maritime Police Station that meets the expectations of the public."
Chief Chae was born in 1970 in Gunsan, Jeonbuk, and grew up in Seoul. He graduated from the Korean National Police University (10th class) and the University of Oregon in the United States (Master of Laws). He joined the maritime police as an inspector in 2007 and has served as Head of Security and Safety at Donghae Regional Headquarters, Consul at the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Sao Paulo, Head of Intelligence and Foreign Affairs at Namhae Regional Headquarters, Chief of Uljin Maritime Police Station, Head of International Cooperation at the Korea Coast Guard, and most recently as Head of Intelligence at the Korea Coast Guard.
Meanwhile, former Chief Kwon Oseong has been transferred to serve as Head of Security and Safety at the Jeju Regional Maritime Police Agency.
