Since most wildfires in spring are caused by the burning of agricultural waste and accidental fires by hikers, there is an urgent need for countermeasures.

Accordingly, to prevent wildfires, Yeongyang-eup has been visiting senior centers directly to provide wildfire prevention education, and also conducted face-to-face training at job gathering sites in connection with the senior employment project.

This education program was carried out on-site by Kim Chohan, the chief of Yeongyang-eup, and was systematically structured to cover the main causes of wildfires, wildfire prevention guidelines, and initial response measures.

In particular, considering the age group of the participants, the program focused on real-life cases such as trash and agricultural waste burning to enhance understanding, and raised awareness by informing about strong penalties for burning waste.

Yeongyang-eup expects that the on-site customized wildfire prevention campaign will serve as a proactive measure to prevent wildfires in advance.
