A representative of Seoul Hanyang Country Club stated, "As a living witness to the history of Korean golf, we deeply feel our social responsibility and have prepared this donation to offer some support to neighbors suffering from the disaster."
In particular, this fundraising activity involved all members of the golf course, including members, employees, and caddies, contributing together. Despite difficult economic conditions and the overall downturn in the golf industry, this effort is recognized as an example of the spirit of sharing that has continued alongside the long history of Seoul Hanyang Country Club.
Since its opening in 1964, Seoul Hanyang Country Club has grown together with the local community, going beyond a simple sports facility to engage in various social contribution activities. Since 1995, it has donated year-end neighbor aid funds annually to Goyang City, and in addition to year-end donations, it raises and donates over 100 million KRW each year to help disaster victims during natural disasters. From 2023, the club has been selecting golf scholarship students and providing scholarships and benefits worth over 200 million KRW to promising players who find it difficult to learn golf in depth.
This recent donation is also part of these efforts, reflecting a sincere desire to provide practical help to neighbors facing difficulties due to sudden disasters.
A representative of Seoul Hanyang Country Club said, "The warm hearts of everyone gathered to raise a large amount. We hope this donation will help overcome the wildfire damage and assist in returning to daily life as soon as possible."
A representative of the Community Chest of Korea Gyeonggi Social Welfare Community Chest expressed deep gratitude, saying, "We sincerely thank Seoul Hanyang Country Club for its warm sharing, leading social contributions alongside the history of Korean golf. We will do our best to ensure that the precious donation you provided is used transparently and promptly to provide necessary support to the affected residents."
Meanwhile, the wildfires that occurred in Gyeongsang Province and other areas have caused massive damage, and recovery work is still ongoing. Amid the continuous warm support from all sectors, Seoul Hanyang Country Club's recent donation is expected to be a great help to the local community.
