It is being established in the Guseong District of Sani-myeon, Haenam, with the goal of building a sustainable ecosystem that connects nature, humanity, and the future.
As the first garden-style botanical garden in Jeonnam, it opened its first phase of 50,000 pyeong last May and is scheduled for a full opening this year with a total area of 160,000 pyeong. In addition to green spaces such as the arboretum and walking trails, it features a complex cultural space including an art museum, cafe, and playground facilities. It is becoming a popular family healing destination where nature and art blend to foster intergenerational communication.
In particular, Haenam Sani Garden will host an ESG Festival on the 26th. Co-hosted and organized by Sani Garden and the Jeollanam-do ESG Association, the festival will feature a children's drawing contest, ESG book concert, and various eco-friendly experiential events.
Art events themed on nature, environmental lectures, and hands-on activities will also be offered to raise awareness and share practical solutions for a sustainable future. Additionally, during April and May, the 'Sani Garden First Spring Festa' is being held, welcoming visitors with photo zones featuring blooming spring flowers throughout the garden.
In relation to this, on the 9th, Haenam County, the Korea Tourism Organization, and Sani Garden signed a business agreement to cooperate in developing Sani Garden as a leading tourist attraction in the Gwangju and Jeonnam region. The signing ceremony was attended by Governor Myung Hyun-kwan, Kim Wan-soo, Head of the Gwangju-Jeonnam Branch of the Korea Tourism Organization, and Lee Byung-chul, CEO of Ayoung Co., Ltd. They pledged to collaborate on promotional marketing and product service support for the successful implementation of the Small-Scale Potential Tourist Destination Development Project.
Governor Myung Hyun-kwan stated, "This selection as a small-scale potential tourist destination is a great opportunity to widely promote Haenam's tourism resources and value," adding, "I hope Sani Garden will become a nationally renowned tourist attraction and a driving force for revitalizing the local economy."
