Yangcheon-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Gi-jae) announced on the 10th that the redevelopment plan for Mokdong Apartments 1~3 complexes, the 'final puzzle' of the Mokdong apartment reconstruction, has been unveiled, completing the blueprint for the reconstruction of all 14 complexes. The district plans to conduct a public inspection of the redevelopment plan until the 28th of this month and hold resident briefing sessions for each complex starting from the 14th.

The maximum number of floors is expected to transform from the current 15 floors to 49 floors for all complexes.
Mokdong Complexes 1~3 are complexes with various urban functions, including abundant waterfront and green spaces such as Anyangcheon Stream, Yongwangsan Mountain, and Paris Park, schools such as Wolchon Elementary, Yeongdo Elementary, and Sinmok Middle School, and connections to the Mokdong central district. They are planned to be newly developed as complexes harmonized with the surrounding environment through the creation of open green spaces (Mokdong Greenway), strengthening pedestrian connectivity via public walkways, and forming symbolic urban skylines.
In particular, Mokdong Complexes 1~3, which belong to the second-class general residential area, have accelerated reconstruction due to the zoning upgrade following the creation of open green spaces. The open green space 'Mokdong Greenway' will be established along 1.5 km (15 m wide) of Mokdongseo-ro and 2.4 km (8 m wide) of Mokdongjungang-ro, forming a metropolitan green axis connecting the National Assembly Boulevard rooftop park and Anyangcheon Stream, becoming an urban green space that provides nature and rest to residents.
Additionally, pedestrian connectivity between complexes and safe school routes will be secured through public walkways, and street activation will be promoted by arranging various community facilities for residents' convenience. Furthermore, plans have been made to form symbolic urban landscapes by securing various building heights and sightlines.
The resident briefing sessions on the redevelopment plan will be held at Hanuri Hall in Yangcheon Haenuri Town on the 14th for Mokdong Complex 1, the 16th for Complex 2, and the 25th for Complex 3. The district plans to apply for the designation of redevelopment zones to Seoul City within the first half of the year after collecting residents' opinions, hearing from the district council, and conducting rapid integrated planning advisory meetings.
Meanwhile, as the redevelopment project for Mokdong Apartments has entered full swing, redevelopment zones for five complexes, including Complex 6 starting last August and recently Complexes 8, 12, 13, and 14, have been designated. With the redevelopment plans for Complexes 1~3 now disclosed, the district has prepared a comprehensive redevelopment blueprint for all 14 complexes and plans to actively support the designation of redevelopment zones for all complexes within this year.
Mayor Lee Gi-jae said, "At this briefing session, we will explain the progress of the redevelopment project for Mokdong Complexes 1~3 and the redevelopment plan, and collect residents' opinions for future promotion," adding, "2025 will be the time when the Mokdong apartment redevelopment project shows visible results, and we will do our best to lead the reconstruction swiftly to ensure stable housing supply and improvement of the residential environment."
