Lee Jae-myung Declares Presidential Candidacy Today via Video Message

Primary Campaign Team Lineup to Be Announced at National Assembly on the 11th
Presidential Election Think Tank "Growth and Integration" to Launch on the 16th

Former Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung will officially announce his candidacy for the June 3 presidential election on the 10th.

On the day, Lee will express his determination and commitment to running for president through a video message lasting about 10 minutes. The announcement video is expected to include themes such as livelihood and growth.


Lee's camp explained, "It was produced in the style of a Netflix documentary program," adding, "It contains excellent visuals and a sincere message."


On the 11th, a vision presentation will also be held at the National Assembly Communication Office. The lineup for the primary campaign will be revealed at this event. Lawmakers Yoon Ho-jung and Kang Hoon-sik have been appointed as the campaign committee chairman and general headquarters chief, respectively.


Lee resigned from his position as party leader after presiding over the party's Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly the day before.


Following Lee's resignation, floor leader Park Chan-dae will serve as the acting party leader.


Four-term lawmaker Lee Chun-seok was appointed as the chairman of the Special Party Rules Preparation Committee to prepare for the election, and four-term lawmaker Park Beom-gye was appointed as the chairman of the Election Commission. Once the primary concludes and a candidate is selected, the party will transition to an election campaign committee (Seondae-wi) system.


Meanwhile, the "Growth and Integration," which will serve as Lee Jae-myung's think tank and the Democratic Party's presidential election think tank, is set to launch on the 16th.
