On the 10th, Korea Startup Forum announced that it will officially launch a policy task force (TF) aimed at proposing startup policies and reflecting them in national agenda items in the upcoming presidential election phase.

This TF plans to strengthen policy communication with the National Assembly and government in preparation for the presidential election, and to gather opinions from founders, ecosystem stakeholders, and academic experts to ensure these are reflected in the election pledges.

The policy TF is composed mainly of Jeong Ji-eun, CEO of Codit, and Lee Hyun-jae, CEO of Yes Future, who serve as co-chairs of the external policy division of Kospo. In addition, participation from Kospo’s leadership, major member companies, and ecosystem experts will reflect on-site demands and prepare effective policy proposals.

In particular, Codit will lead the overall TF activities by discovering sophisticated policy messages connected to global trends based on data within its self-developed AI, law, regulation, and policy platform, and delivering these messages to each political party and candidate campaign.

The agenda centers on the core value of ‘Scale-up Korea.’ Detailed policy tasks will be proposed focusing on new industries such as AI and Govtech, which will serve as engines for strengthening global competitiveness and economic growth.

The three main tasks are ▲ Diversification of Korea’s business models (BM) through fostering new industries ▲ Public innovation and digital transformation (DX) to strengthen Korea’s future competitiveness ▲ Regulatory reform 2.0 for a free and fair competitive market and a new order. These will be strategically communicated through surveys with Kospo’s major member companies and feedback from industry and experts to be reflected in the pledges of major political parties and presidential candidates.

Han Sang-woo, chairman of Korea Startup Forum, stated, “Through this TF, we will elevate Kospo’s external policy activities to the next level and strive to establish startups as a core entity of national competitiveness. We will closely communicate with Kospo member companies, government, related ministries, academia, and experts, lead the discovery of agendas suited to the times, and guide Korea to leap forward as a ‘country good for startups again.’”
