GS Retail's convenience store GS25 announced on the 10th that it will begin test sales of color cosmetics from Musinsa's makeup brand 'WHIZZY'.
WHIZZY is a makeup brand launched on Musinsa last February. It aims for easy and simple beauty for young beauty customers who pursue freedom and novelty.
The test sale products are mainly composed of lip category items. There are a total of 8 items, including 5 types of 'Glow Up Tint' (Soft Spoken, Peach Kin, Bet, Clapback, Ruby Crush) and 3 types of 'Slick Move Lip & Cheek' (Pretty Savage, Peach Core, Barely Blush). The price of Glow Up Tint is 13,000 KRW, and Slick Move Lip & Cheek is 14,000 KRW. During the month of April, a 30% payback event will be held for payments made via KakaoPay.
GS25 will showcase WHIZZY products by installing beauty-specialized displays at 20 major stores (such as DXLAB Store, New Annyeong Insadong Store, GS Gangnam Store, etc.). At these displays, customers can also find cost-effective basic cosmetics priced uniformly at 3,000 KRW, in addition to WHIZZY products.
Through this partnership, GS25 plans to strengthen its competitiveness in the beauty category. It is expanding its influence from last year's focus on basic cosmetics lineup to include color cosmetics as well. The company aims to secure future growth engines in the non-food sector and provide differentiated consumer experiences.
Lee Jung-min, GS25 Beauty MD, said, "Through this collaboration with Musinsa, by expanding beauty products from basic cosmetics to color cosmetics, we expect to strengthen our competitiveness in the beauty market and solidify our position as a beauty platform near customers' homes," adding, "It will bring another turning point to convenience store beauty."
Meanwhile, GS25 is strengthening collaborations with various beauty brands such as Real Barrier, Isntree, Derma:B, and Scinic. In particular, since the end of last year, it has been continuously launching basic cosmetics priced uniformly at 3,000 KRW.
