Sancheong County Supports Housing Stability for Wildfire Victims ... Public Rental Housing Assistance

Up to Two Years Without Deposit or Rent

Sancheong County in Gyeongnam announced on the 10th that it will provide public rental housing to support stable housing for wildfire victims.

The support will be provided by utilizing vacant units in the Sancheong Sinan Haengbok Public Housing owned by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).

Residents can live there for a minimum of six months up to a maximum of two years without paying a deposit or monthly rent, only covering utility and maintenance fees. Sancheong County plans to actively promote the application and procedures for public rental housing and promises to process applications quickly if wildfire victims express their intention to move in.

Previously, on the 21st of last month, Sancheong County designated the Korea Seonbi Culture Research Institute, which offers private and independent accommodations, as a temporary housing facility for wildfire victims in the Sicheon-myeon area.

Currently, 25 people from 15 households are temporarily residing at the Korea Seonbi Culture Research Institute. Meanwhile, Sancheong County is providing meals and relief supplies to the temporary housing facility for six months and is conducting daily welfare checks to address any inconveniences.

County Governor Lee Seunghwa stated, "We are making every effort to ensure housing stability for wildfire victims who lost their homes in the massive wildfire," and added, "We will do our utmost to provide prompt and active support so that residents can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
