Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, which hosts the Masters, announced on the 7th (local time) that "Singh has informed the tournament committee that he will not participate in this year's event due to injury." This year marks the 89th Masters Tournament, which will begin on the 10th at Augusta National Golf Club and continue for four days of competition.

Singh, inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2006, has accumulated 34 PGA Tour wins (including 3 majors). He secured his Masters invitation by winning the tournament in 2000. Singh had maintained a record of 31 consecutive Masters appearances from 1994 through last year, but his 32nd appearance has been canceled.

During his 31 Masters appearances, he made the cut 20 times and finished in the top 10 consecutively from 2002 to 2006. Last year, at age 61, he made the cut and finished tied for 58th place. His total earnings from the Masters amount to $2,678,117 (approximately 3.9 billion KRW).
