Samsung Electronics has recruited Sophia Hwang-Judiesh, a North American distribution expert, as a new talent to oversee its global retail strategy division.

원본보기 아이콘According to industry sources on the 6th, Samsung Electronics recently appointed Sophia Hwang-Judiesh, former North American representative of Tommy Hilfiger, as the Global Vice President in charge of the retail strategy division. Vice President Hwang is a B2C distribution expert with experience as President of Hudson's Bay and Vice President of Strategy at Ulta Beauty.
Newly appointed Vice President Hwang shared on her LinkedIn, "I pinch myself because it feels like a dream to work at one of the largest companies worldwide and at a company that gives me the opportunity to return to my roots."
In addition to Vice President Hwang, Samsung Electronics has been actively recruiting external talent, including appointing world-renowned industrial designer Mauro Porcini as Chief Design Officer (CDO) of the Device Experience (DX) division on the 1st.
Recently, Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Jae-yong emphasized at a seminar for executives, "We must nurture and bring in top-tier talent who are better than the current management, regardless of nationality or gender," and added, "If necessary, personnel changes should be made frequently."
