Daesang's kimchi brand 'Jongga' announced on the 3rd that it has launched three types of packages featuring the brand ambassador Seventeen's 'Hoshi' in the Japanese market.
This package showcases a seasoned kimchi product made with a recipe optimized for Japanese consumers' tastes while preserving the unique identity of 'Jongga.' It includes two PET-type products of the most popular 'Jongga Selected Flavor Kimchi' in 320g and 750g sizes, and one container-type product of 'Jongga Selected Flavor Soft Kimchi' 300g, which features reduced spiciness and a different fermentation process for a savory taste, totaling three types.
Through this Hoshi package, Jongga plans to introduce the charm of Jongga kimchi to Japanese consumers and simultaneously expand local brand awareness.
Kim Hoe-chan, CEO of Daesang Japan, said, "We hope many local consumers can experience the unique value of Jongga through this Hoshi package," adding, "We will continue to introduce various new products that can captivate the Japanese market and expand the influence of 'Jongga.'"
Meanwhile, Daesang entered the Japanese market by establishing its local subsidiary Daesang Japan in 1978. Currently, it exports various products such as seasonings, kimchi, sauces, and convenience foods, and in 2023, it began producing various sauce products through its subsidiary Daesang Food Japan, established to secure local food production capabilities.
