Park Sungho, Commissioner of Busan Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, Visits Halla IMS After Surpassing 100 Billion KRW in Sales

Park Sungho, Commissioner of the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority, visited Halla IMS Co., Ltd. (Co-CEOs Ji Seokjun and Kim Younggu), a company specializing in marine equipment, on the 1st to congratulate them on their outstanding achievements in sales, exports, and tax contributions last year, and to listen to the company’s on-site challenges.

This visit was arranged to commemorate Halla IMS, a resident company of the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone, surpassing 100 billion KRW in annual sales for the first time since its founding, marking remarkable growth, and to hear voices from the marine industry field and explore support measures.

In 2024, Halla IMS achieved sales of 104.2 billion KRW, a 32% increase compared to the previous year, with overseas exports reaching 72.8 billion KRW, a 60% increase year-on-year. Demonstrating rapid sales growth, Halla IMS was recognized for its technological prowess and export competitiveness both domestically and internationally, receiving the '30 Million Dollar Export Tower on the 2023 Trade Day' and the 'Presidential Commendation on the 59th Taxpayer's Day in 2025' in succession.

Additionally, the company was selected as a Global Leading Company in 2015 and as a Busan Cheongkkeul Enterprise (a company attractive to young people) in 2024, and has been certified as a Youth-Friendly Strong Small Enterprise for nine consecutive years from 2016 to 2024, receiving excellent evaluations in terms of employment environment as well.

Since its establishment in 1989, Halla IMS has grown as a strong small enterprise in the shipbuilding and marine industry sectors based on its independent automation technology, supplying Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS), Valve Remote Control Systems (VRCS), and level measurement systems to more than 70 countries worldwide.

On this day, Commissioner Park visited the site in person to review the status of eco-friendly and digital technology adoption and communicated with the company at a business meeting regarding various support policies such as export expansion, securing manpower, and linking with government policies.

Commissioner Park stated, "Halla IMS is a representative company of the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone, equipped with technological strength, export competitiveness, and job creation, and achieving 100 billion KRW in annual sales is also a very meaningful accomplishment. The Free Economic Zone Authority will continue to expand practical support by reflecting the voices from the field."
