Korea Rail Network Authority Donates 25 Million Won for Wildfire Relief... Training Center Provided as Temporary Shelter

The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 1st that it will support 25 million won in donations collected jointly by labor and management to help residents who lost their homes due to wildfires in the Gyeongsang region through the Community Chest of Korea.

The Authority will provide relief supplies directly through local governments in the affected areas and offer part of its training facilities as temporary shelters.


It also plans to cooperate with local governments' requests to use idle railway land as temporary housing.


Personnel and equipment from the Authority will be deployed to the recovery sites. The Authority plans to focus on practical support for stabilizing residents' lives.


Lee Seong-hae, Chairman of the Korea Rail Network Authority, said, "I extend my deepest condolences to the residents of the Gyeongsang region who are facing great difficulties due to the unexpected wildfires," adding, "We will spare no available resources to help the affected neighbors return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
