Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced on the 1st that labor and management jointly declared the 'Safety and Health Management Policy.'
The BPA Safety and Health Management Policy includes ▲ compliance with laws to eradicate safety accidents ▲ establishment of risk assessment and self-regulation prevention systems ▲ fostering a voluntary safety culture ▲ promotion of health enhancement activities ▲ elimination of safety blind spots and strengthening response capabilities ▲ building a cooperative safety management system.
This safety and health management policy was finalized especially based on close cooperation between labor and management through a safety and health expert working group, company-wide opinion surveys, and executive meetings.
BPA labor and management expect that this policy will further strengthen the safety and health of Busan Port and establish a proactive and active safety management system.
Song Sang-geun, BPA President, said, "The joint statement announced by labor and management is a strong message that we share a common goal toward worker safety and health," adding, "All employees will take responsibility and work to create a safe Busan Port."
To implement this policy company-wide, BPA has introduced and operates the 'Safety Moment' system. This system involves each department head taking turns to share safety-related information at the first executive meeting every month to strengthen the safety culture.
