The Gwangju Office of Education Student Education and Culture Center will host a meeting with poet Seo Deokjun on April 12 in celebration of 'Library Week' and 'World Book Day.' This event will be held in the form of an online (ZOOM) lecture, aiming to share the healing power of literature with citizens.
According to the Gwangju Office of Education on the 1st, Seo Deokjun will give a lecture on the theme of 'Reflecting on the Healing Power of Poetry that Uplifts Life,' discussing how poetry can provide comfort and renewal in one's life and emotions. After the lecture, there will be a Q&A session with participants to continue literary communication.
Seo is a poet who has written about love and memories in a delicate and warm language in works such as 'You Become My Summer,' and has suggested to readers the place of literature as a space to catch one's breath amidst the gaps of everyday life.
This lecture is part of the '2025 Library Week and World Book Day' program prepared by the Gwangju Student Education and Culture Center. Applications to participate will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis for up to 30 people through the center's website from April 1 to 10.
In addition, the Gwangju Student Education and Culture Center will hold various reading culture events online from April 12 to 29, such as ▲Library Moment ▲Reading Books with Pets ▲Online Original Illustration Exhibition ▲Book Code Quiz. As the center is currently undergoing restructuring construction, all events will be held online only.
