Democratic Party: "Prime Minister Han Must Announce Intention to Appoint Judge Ma Eun-hyeok Today"

"Delaying Ma Eunhyeok's Appointment
Obstructs the Punishment of the Rebellion"

The Democratic Party of Korea on the 30th once again urged Han Deok-su, Acting President and Prime Minister, to "express his intention to appoint Ma Eun-hyeok as a Constitutional Court Justice today."

Kang Yoo-jung, the party's floor spokesperson, stated in a written briefing that day, "Prime Minister Han should immediately stop acting as a hostage-taker in the appointment of Justice Ma."

Spokesperson Kang criticized, "The lawlessness and disregard for the constitution by the two acting leaders, Han Deok-su and Choi Sang-mok, are shaking the security of the Republic of Korea to its roots," adding, "They are outright rejecting bills passed by the National Assembly despite conflicts of interest in the rebellion, and are also ignoring the appointments of Justice Ma Eun-hyeok and Supreme Court Justice Ma Yong-ju, shielding the ringleader of the rebellion."

She continued, "The veto power and appointment delays by the two acting leaders obstruct the punishment of the loyalist coup and rebellion," and claimed, "They are only busy rejecting all special prosecutors Nam Tae-gyun, Kim Geon-hee, and Chae Sang-byeong, focusing solely on covering up the misdeeds and faults of Yoon Seok-yeol, the ringleader of the rebellion."

She further pointed out, "The clear decision by the Constitutional Court to appoint Justice Ma Eun-hyeok has been ignored for 32 days for one purpose and one interest only," emphasizing, "That is the concealment of the rebellion and the protection of the ringleader of the rebellion."

Regarding Acting President Han, she said, "He is already sharpening his veto appetite, saying he will exercise veto power against the amendment to the Commercial Act, which even the Financial Supervisory Service head supports," and criticized, "Just as Acting Deputy Prime Minister Choi Sang-mok, who bet on Korea’s downfall to fill his own pockets, was a deputy prime minister only for his own economic interests, Han Deok-su is also a shielded prime minister and a rebellion prime minister only for himself."

She concluded by emphasizing, "With the will to end the rebellion and uphold the constitution, the Democratic Party will now steadily normalize its parliamentary duties."
