On the 26th, HMM held the 49th regular general shareholders' meeting and board of directors meeting at its headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, and announced the appointment of Choi Won-hyuk as the new CEO (photo). The term is two years.
New CEO Choi is a logistics expert with over 40 years of experience in the global logistics industry, including CJ Logistics and LX Pantos. In particular, he served as the CEO of LX Pantos for eight years from 2015, gaining recognition for his expertise in global logistics, management capabilities, and organizational leadership. He also served as the president of the Korea Integrated Logistics Association from 2019 to 2023 and received the Silver Tower Order of Industrial Service Merit at the 30th Korea Logistics Awards in 2022.
At the HMM shareholders' meeting that day, Choi, along with Lee Jung-yeop, Executive Director of the Container Business Division, were newly appointed as inside directors, and Seo Geun-woo was reappointed as an outside director.
