Recently, POSCO E&C signed strategic memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with global senior residence operator Ascott, elderly education and care specialist Daekyo Newif, and healthcare institutions Chaum Clinic and Cha Healthcare. This established a specialized partnership across the three fields of housing, care, and medical services.

POSCO E&C plans to act as a control tower responsible for discovering senior residences and various forms of corporate rental businesses, as well as planning overall operations. It will also develop and plan services in each field through cooperation with its partners. Additionally, it intends to build a standardized service operation manual to be applied to future projects. POSCO E&C aims to advance related projects within this year in Hannam-dong, Seoul, and Osan, Gyeonggi Province.

POSCO E&C is proactive in senior-targeted housing projects. Among the 20 lifestyle-customized plans of the 'New Floor Plan' unveiled last year, there are plans specifically targeting the senior demographic. In particular, the '2-Person Active Senior' plan is designed as a space for leisure and relaxation for senior couples. It includes two independent master rooms for the couple, two bathrooms, and three outdoor terraces. The floor plan for a five-person family shared by three generations provides bedrooms, bathrooms, and terrace spaces for the senior couple and each spouse individually. Notably, the master bedroom for the senior couple features a dedicated living room space inside the bedroom to enhance independence.

The New Floor Plan was developed with consultation from Professor Yoo Hyun-jun of Hongik University, who participated in the development process. It departs from conventional standardized structures by employing a column-type structure to increase adaptability and is designed to flexibly respond to changes in family composition. It is named 'FLEXI-FORM,' meaning a space that can be flexibly transformed. The strategy also includes 'pursuit of sustainability' encompassing multiple generations, 'de-boundarization of space,' and the realization of 'wellness.'

A POSCO E&C representative stated, “Preparing for the next 30 years, we will continuously develop differentiated housing products that respond to changes in customers’ lifestyles.”
