The police have initiated a pre-investigation (internal inquiry) before formal indictment regarding the incident in which a supporter of President Yoon Suk-yeol assaulted Lee Jae-jung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, in front of the Constitutional Court.
On the 21st, the Jongno Police Station in Seoul stated that they are conducting an internal inquiry into a man in his 60s, identified as Choi, on charges of assault, and that a complaint from the victim's side has not yet been received.
Earlier, on the 20th at around 6:10 PM, while Lee was moving toward the Constitutional Court, the man named Choi kicked her right thigh.
A police official said, "Considering the seriousness of the matter, we will accurately verify the facts and proceed with the investigation promptly."
