Gwangju City Arboretum announced on the 18th that it will offer a variety of seasonal forest interpretation programs free of charge until November 30.
The forest interpretation programs are customized for all ages, from young children to adults. A forest interpreter guides participants around the arboretum, helping them gain a proper understanding of the forest and engage in effective forest exploration activities.
These programs use various natural elements such as flowers and fruits visible in each season as their themes. For adults, activities such as meditation and forest walks are offered to help relieve stress. For children and vulnerable groups, the programs provide healing nature learning experiences, including stories about forest animals and various sensory activities tailored to their level.
The programs are conducted by age group and include: ▲Let's Play in the Arboretum ▲From Light Green to Brown ▲Let's Grow Together ▲It Changes Every Day ▲Let's Find Grass, Trees, Insects, and Birds. In particular, special summer vacation programs for young children and teenagers are planned for August.
The programs are available by reservation on Tuesday through Saturday, both in the morning and afternoon. On-site registration is also available for the general public and families. Each session accommodates about 15 to 20 participants. Those interested in participating can contact the Meaeri Forest Ecology Research Institute.
Lee Jeongsin, head of the Arboretum and Garden Office, said, "I hope this will be a valuable time for citizens who are weary from daily life to learn about nature and heal at the arboretum," and added, "On weekends and holidays, we also operate environmental and ecological programs with geopark interpreters, so we hope for your interest and participation."
