The meeting was attended by city officials including Mayor Lee Dong-hwan, Lee Seung-jae, Director of Education and Culture, Park Sang-hee, Director of Lifelong Education, as well as representatives from the School Operation Committee such as Ma Jun, Chairman of the School Operation Committee, Kim Na-jung, Senior Vice Chairman, Kang Mi-hee, Chairman of the Deokyang Branch, and Mo Pyeong, Chairman of the Ilsan Branch. They exchanged vivid opinions from the field regarding education policies and sought practical cooperation measures.


The meeting focused on key topics including ▲ directions for promoting the Education Development Special Zone ▲ necessary improvements in the educational environment at schools ▲ support policies for future education.


In particular, representatives from the School Operation Committee proposed the realities and improvement directions of education policies from the perspectives of parents and students, requesting more effective policy implementation.


Since being designated as an Education Development Special Zone last year, the city has been promoting various policies for future education such as strengthening artificial intelligence (AI) and digital education, fostering global talents, and expanding connections with local educational resources. Additionally, efforts are being made to create a creative educational environment linked to the region through the establishment of innovative learning models and student-tailored educational support.


Mayor Lee Dong-hwan emphasized, “We will promote substantial policies befitting the Education Development Special Zone and create an educational environment that students and parents can feel through close cooperation with the School Operation Committee.”


Ma Jun, Chairman of the School Operation Committee, also stated, “We will do our best to create an educational environment that provides practical help to students by cooperating with the city so that the voices from the school field are actively reflected in policies.”


Building on this meeting, the city plans to prepare practical education policies reflecting diverse opinions from the education field and leap forward as a ‘global education city nurturing future talents.’
